Motorcycle Training in Bridgwater and all
surrounding areas.
WHAT IS THE DIRECT ACCESS SCHEME?
For people aged 24 or over, taking direct access
means you’ll have a full motorcycle licence
without previously holding a licence for a smaller
bike for two years – you’ll have no restriction on
the size of machine you can ride.
You’ll have to pass the motorcycle Module 1 and
2 practical tests on a machine of at least 40 kW
(53.6 bhp).
DAS MOTORCYCLE TRAINING
In order to attend a DAS training course, you will
need to:
Training is done by our friendly, experienced and
professional instructors on a machine of at least
40 kW (53.6 bhp). We aim to give you the skills,
knowledge and confidence to be able to
successfully pass your full test and get your
unrestricted licence in the shortest time and
hence least cost.
TAKING THE ‘A’ (UNRESTRICTED) TEST
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
We work on an hourly basis and, as with all
driving instruction, the time required to reach the
required pass standard will vary from student to
student. As above, three days is typical and
would be a useful cost guide.

Direct Access Scheme (DAS)
Motorcycle Training in Bridgwater
be at least 24 years of age
have completed your CBT (Compulsory Basic
Training)
hold a valid driving licence (full or provisional)
Our hourly fee is £49.50 (including VAT) and we
provide helmets with built in state of the art two
way communication systems as well as
motorcycle jackets, gloves and waterproofs, if
required, all free of charge.
The DVSA test charge is £15.50. This is the off-
road test and normally takes about 20 minutes.
It includes basic control, emergency stop and
hazard avoidance. After taking the test you’ll be
told if you’ve passed, in which case you’ll be
issued with a Module 1 Pass Certificate which
you’ll need to take to the Module 2 Test.
Our DAS Motorcycle training courses are
typically run over two or three sessions of 3 to 4
hours each, depending on each student’s
experience and ability, and include taking the
Module 1 & Module 2 practical tests. The
sessions can be run on successive days or over
a period of weeks to suit your preference and
availability. Your Module 1 and Module 2 tests
are normally booked after your first session so
that your instructor has had time to assess how
much training you need.
Module 1
The DVSA test charge is £75. This is the on-road
test and normally takes about 40 minutes. It
includes an eyesight check, ‘show me, tell me’
vehicle safety questions, road riding in various
road and traffic conditions and independent
riding.
Module 2
Module test dates and times are subject to DVSA
timetables but we always endeavour to arrange
test sessions to fit in wherever possible with our
student’s convenience and availability.
We charge a fixed fee for each of the Module test
sessions which covers our instructor
accompanying you to and from the test and
remaining with you for however long it takes. It
also includes the use of our machines and riding
equipment. The fee for Module 1 is £115 and for
Module 2 is £140, both including VAT.
Module Test Sessions
The Module tests are taken during separate
dedicated sessions when you will be
accompanied there and back by our instructor
and will have the use of our motorcycle and all
associated equipment.
Assessment
Our DAS Motorcycle training courses include an
initial 2 hour assessment lesson, at a cost of
£105 inc. VAT with a 50% deposit on booking, to
assess the level of training required to get to test
standard, all training lessons following this are at
the rate of £49.50 per hour
Payment for test days is taken upfront upon
booking with Mod 1 test day being £130.50 and
Mod 2 being £215 totalling £345.50 for both, all
inclusive of VAT. This is an all inclusive price for
the test days unless additional training is
required or requested on the day.
